Same story here. All because of her day one of the 30 day challenge! She
shows so much personality in her videos, nice to see a non robotic yoga
video that puts you in the place of the very first yogi!

Also, like you were a child again , unhindered and proper to you as a
      person.

+Barbarella Murillo I will look it up tomorrow on my day off, ya ever since
I was a kid I wanted to be flexible enough to sit like that. I had a
physical for basketball and the doctor said I either needed surgery to
slightly extend my hamstrings or daily yoga for years.

Well, interesting experience, I can’t do yoga. My left elbow lacks strength
since my radius broke a year ago. All the muscles in my left knee are too
flexible (dislocated the fucker once) to comfortably bent without slipping,
tearing, overstretching, dislocating my knee. So I had to stop at downward
dog. Now I’m more stressed then when I started.
Pity, it looks so relaxing and I really wanted to give it a try.

there are plenty of forms of yoga that will suit you and arent as strenuous
and can be done on the floor . just research it online.

Just finished thanksgiving dinner a couple of hours ago. Tried this because
I was feeling sluggish and I feel much better now. I’ve done a couple of
beginners yoga before, and i still can’t get my heels to touch the ground
in downward dog, i always end up on my toes and with my knees bent. but my
back is straight and my palms and fingers are spread apart, is there
something im doing wrong or is it just because I’m not flexible and it will
    get better with time?

Face a wall standing roughly, give your take , 4 feet away. You can adjust
and find a good one for you… Your gonna wanna be about 6-7-8 extra inches
than arms length away. Your gonna bend down, trying to touch your chest to
you knees, and your gonna use the wall to base with your hands on. So.
Plant your hands and keeping your back straight and tall, bend a true hips,
      but not the lower back..

keep your legs locked, and straight, facing this wall. Feet together and
start by relaxing the neck, and feeling your balance as you stand up
      straight and prepare to bend.

Finally, bending how I described by keeping the back straight, slowly bend
at the hips, let you hands base out on the wall for balance and strength.

So your kinda , starting a little back from the wall and balancing on it
with your hands to make like an anglenwithbyour body, try this. The goal
would be to get your chest to your knees but I find simple touching the
wall (basing out, or balancing on the wall with your hands) , produces a
very stable position go get a stretch. While helping you building arm
strength, and breathe too. Once you are balancing on the wall , you will be
immediately feeling a stretch in the calves and hamstrings, you don’t even
have to bend far. That’s not the point of this exercise. It opens up these
areas slowly. So either count super slow from 20, 3 times or put on a music
and ease into and play around with the feelings this excercise provides. I
really like this one. And it couples extremely well with a slow forward
fold in-between your 3 reps here, do 3 reps in forward fold ifnubjavr the
passion. You are opening up your body and it’s spiritual, and good. Do it
slow and start with very low tension. 😀

To go farther down, you simply keep your hands on the wall, and back
straight, letting the wall hold your weight and with your hands walk down
the wall. But staying close to the wall is key, (at the 90 degree mark on
your body angle- which makes sense if yu do this how I described to you
      step by step above)

So give it a try and as soon as you hands nitnthe wall you will feel how
the stretch is working. It’s different than a forward fold, it’s basically
the same thing as a downward dog, but we are balancing on the wall instead
of the floor, it’s great and relaxing. So try step by step , line your feet
and bend down that wall! 😀

Sometimes you can balance with your head too. You will see it when you do
      it, it’s great.

My wrists and hands can barely hold my weight while doing downward dog. I
keep having to take a break from that pose every like 5 or 10 seconds ugh.
    I’ll keep trying though.
