Most people I meet think that they're quite healthy and balanced, however when I probe a little further right into their diet plans, I rapidly figure out that they are consuming a lot of "health" foods you need to never eat. I cannot criticize them. With all of the complication surrounding labeling and marketing, buzzwords like "sugar-free," "natural" and even "natural" could be truly complicated. I intend to clarify.

In this episode of Ancient Medicine Today, I discuss the top 10 hazardous foods you should get rid of from your diet as well as the leading 10 recovery foods to contribute to help recover and sustain your body.

I know doctors that know nothing about nutrition (it’s not taught to them except for maybe one class for a standard MD) and I know people without any formal education that have perfect health and knows more about nutrition than most. Ignore titles. Do the research. Look out for bias and conflicts of interest and make your decisions.
I’ve vetted Josh Axe and Dr. or not, i agree with nearly all he says and those things are usually irrelevant. He gives good advice and we should listen.

    • Scott Gabelman May 9, 2017 at 12:11 pm

Paul Mailhot what kind of water distiller did you purchase? Thank you

    • Paul Mailhot May 9, 2017 at 12:21 pm

Mine is just a counter-top distiller that doesn’t have a brand name stamped on it anywhere that I can find.
I can’t remember where I ordered it from (probably Amazon). It was a couple hundred dollars. While I am okay with the water it produces, my wife doesn’t like the taste, which is probably from the plastic jug that the distiller drips into.

Can you be more specific in good and bad dairy ? Can you also make a video about goat cheese and goat products?

    • Athletic 101 April 17, 2017 at 3:38 pm

Yes! let me explain to you πŸ™‚ You want to avoid grain fed, conventional, non organic animal products because they are injectecd with steroid hormones like IGF 4 which can cause acne. They are also injected with Antibiotics which are harmful. they are also fed with GMO Grains which are inflamatory, their fats are full of omega 6 and low in omega 3 due to their diet. + Most dairy is pasturized which means it’s been heated to very high temperatues. This process kills an enzyme called LACTASE which helps you break down LACTOSE, the reason alot of people are lactose intolerant is due to the pasturization. Pasturization also destroys most minerals and vitamins and makes the proteins rancid which makes it hard to digest. It’s also homogenized which you want to avoid.

You want to consume pasture raised, grass fed, organic, low pasturized or raw, free from synthetic addatives like “calcium carbonate” or “Vitamin D2” which are synthetic vitamins and minerals that are harmful. If the ingredient label says “vitamin D” it’s most likely vitamin d2 which is synthetic. Preferably consume goat’s or sheep’s dairy because most cows produce a milk that has a protein called Beta a1 casein which is inflamatory and hard to digest for some people. New Zealand cows are A2 and all sheep’s and goat’s dairy has got A2 casein + their lactose is easier to digest due to it being absorbed slower than Cow’s milk.

Same applies to all dairy products, butter, cheese, you name it.

      Hope that helps πŸ™‚

    • Jesica Meyers April 17, 2017 at 5:18 pm

Thanks for the useful info but one thing, how can boiling milk destroy minerals since minerals are natural elements?

    • Athletic 101 April 18, 2017 at 6:07 am

Good question. Minerals are found in rocks and salts which the plants need in order to produce vitamins. The plants feed of the rocks and produce vitamins like vitamin C. Vitamin C is made out of Ascorbic acid, Vitamin J, P, K and Copper, which is a mineral. When you heat the Milk it destroys the vitamins thus damaging the naturally occuring minerals in the vitamins. The Calcium in Cows milk is not Calcium carbonate which is lime stone. The Calcium in cows milk is a part of a vitamin. Research shows that pasturization damages minerals aswell as vitamins, enzymes and probiotics. . Pasturization destroys the enzymes that help you absorb the minerals. For instance Phosphotate is destroyed by Pasturizing milk and without phosphotate you can’t absorb Calcium.

ascorbic acid is man made vitamin C…. you sounded very intelligent until you misrepresented ascorbic acid.

    • brandon ginder April 18, 2017 at 7:53 am

ascorbic acid is made from modifying corn.

  • Michael Bahu April 17, 2017 at 1:14 pm

Just to sell more soy they find ways to get it into more and more foods we eat. It’s a systemic approach that prioritizes making money off people both from when they purchase food and then when they get sick and need medical attention.

    • Vanessa_Herrarte_07 April 17, 2017 at 1:33 pm

Michael Bahu you can avoid soy by avoiding pre made meals and pre made condiments , just buy raw foods and make your own condiments and such.

    • Lisa Murphy July 14, 2017 at 8:00 pm

Yes, the soy gives you heatburn too so then you have to buy all the anti-acids. Billions of dollars made off that stuff and people don’t even know that soy is the cause.

    • eveny119 August 4, 2017 at 6:00 pm

Use to be the healthiest food. All my vegetarian friends lived on soy as their main protein source, soy this and that Tofu, burgers, milk , TVP subbed for ground beef,….

Grass fed animals are even worse for the environment. They emit way more methane gas than caged animals do. Just say no to meat in general. There’s no need for it

I gave all dairy, white sugar, gluten, ‘and meat the boot about 6 months ago. Amazing how much better i feel. Then , i added cream back in my morning coffee and felt the phlegm and mucus back. Now I’m about another 2 months no dairy and feel really good again. Dr. Axe, your were one of my early inspirations. Thanks for all the truly life-changing videos! Keep up the great work.
