Revolution – Day 6 – Attention (and Abs) Practice

Click Here For The The Best At Home Yoga Workout Of 2017!

Your Day 6 technique asks you to befriend your body. Our modern cultures have educated our minds to think about the body in a really distorted means. The language we use to shape the way we think of the body needs to be tended to. So it with a wonderful paradox and also fun humor that I include ABDOMINAL into Day 6 regimen. It's fine to want that solid pack. (Pass me a cold one?) However Pay attention! Take notice of exactly what actually feels great and also relocate from there. We are no doubt getting more powerful. Ripped. But it's just a by item of the deep connection we are growing with ourselves. Warm prana bodies join!

Surprise yourself.

PS: I changed the title of this pup to Attention rather than Awareness to ensure that you could consider what it really is that you are prioritizing when you require time for yourself. What are you taking note of initially? Your level stomach? Or the grinning of your remarkable, special, dazzling and also tough heart?

Ok, we will all have the belly in fire tomorrow lol
I still remember the burn from 30 days of yoga :)

    • Vardagaladhiel January 6, 2017 at 6:22 pm

Frédéric Fernandes I remember it too!

  • Rachel Munday January 6, 2017 at 2:57 am

I have bruises on my thighs from doing low lunge, is this normal?!

    • Zak White January 6, 2017 at 9:44 am

The best thing I have found is a 2nd yoga mat either as a double layered
mat or a single mat that you at times can grab a 2nd mat and fold it up for
extra cushion. I think a 2nd mat folded gives the best cushion possible
      over a blanket/towel that is folded. I am a bony feller. 6ft tall 193
      pounds. Yoga since August 2016

    • russshh January 6, 2017 at 11:29 am

I usually just lift my knee up so instead of lunge I do regular lunge,
sometimes I also do low lunge but when my knee starts to feel a bit painful
then I lift it up and it’s fine

    • Kelli Soileau January 6, 2017 at 11:39 am

I highly recommend the Yogarat pad, it is worth every penny : )

    • Rachel Munday January 6, 2017 at 1:43 pm

I think it’s from stretching rather than leaning on it, it’s halfway up mu
thigh in random spots rather than near my knee. Thank you very much for all
your replies and suggestions though, I appreciate the effort.

    • Mayasounds January 6, 2017 at 3:33 pm

Make sure your front knee is over your front ankle, and don’t walk your
back knee back too much. Perhaps you just hurt yourself otherwise though,
as it seems unlikely that you would bruise from overstretching.

  • Lena January 6, 2017 at 3:03 am

Life is ironic: when I was opening my laptop I was thinking to myself “I
hope it wasn’t a mistake to train abs yesterday” :D

    • Al Berube January 6, 2017 at 9:51 am

Lena never a mistake to train the abs! 7 days a week is still not too much

    • JusticeLeagueOfPink January 7, 2017 at 2:56 pm

      Lena Same!

  • Lotabuti January 6, 2017 at 4:05 am

i am no where near the stage of doing a side plank but I did the
recommended version,.i look forward to the daily practice and I am sticking
    with it…Thanks Adriene!

    • Elizabeth Mansco January 6, 2017 at 3:53 pm

Lotabuti We will make it for sure…. ;O)))) Positive energy coming from
      Spain 🙏

    • Lotabuti January 6, 2017 at 4:06 pm

+Ines Benk Ohhhhh Wooooooowwww! Right back at you from Trinidad and

    • Renske van Engelen January 6, 2017 at 6:06 pm

The side plank variation that I usually do is not on the wrist but on the
elbow (and the side of your fist). You’ll get the core work-out you want
      without the wrist pain 😉

    • Ana Montoya January 6, 2017 at 6:27 pm

omggg that is a great variatioon!!! thank youuu

    • Laura Howe January 6, 2017 at 8:19 pm

Thank you. My wrists were not happy.

  • designyoself January 6, 2017 at 4:09 am

Today’s practice was waaaaay too difficult for me. 🙁 I took a lot of
breaks and still wasn’t able to finish this.

    • feikki January 6, 2017 at 6:28 am

That’s why it is a practice. 🙂 What’s the fun if everything goes too
smoothly and too easy? It’s way more fulfilling to notice improvement, with
      time. Trust me.

    • ser12z January 6, 2017 at 7:55 pm

designyoself it was really hard for me too. I stopped multiple times, got
frustrated at myself and teared up a bit. As long as you show up on the
mat, you’re doing good! Don’t be too hard on yourself. 🙂

    • designyoself January 7, 2017 at 6:14 am

+ser12z Thank you. I’m glad to see I wasn’t the only one. We can do it,

    • designyoself January 7, 2017 at 6:15 am

+Lotta Neumann I’m going to repeat the Revolution for sure, I hope that
next time I’ll be able to do this one. 🙂

    • Sherana Gaat Je Niks Aan January 11, 2017 at 1:02 am

You will be!! Keep up the good work and appreciate where you are at now. If
you stick with it, it will be better!

  • Dorota Nocun January 6, 2017 at 4:14 am

I had to take a lots of breaks and I might have shouted at the video a
    little, but I survived! 😂

    • Lolamy Lollipop January 6, 2017 at 4:57 am

funny cuz I did just 5 mins and I was playing a bit!

    • ser12z January 6, 2017 at 7:53 pm

Dorota Nocun Me too! I may have shed a tear as well, hahah

    • W. Rankins January 7, 2017 at 10:11 am

      Dorota Nocun Same! 😂

  • diamondsofsix January 6, 2017 at 4:51 am

Was trying to concentrate on doing the sideplank with three curious bunnies
skipping around me xD I collapsed more than once!

    • Megan Roman January 6, 2017 at 8:58 pm

My cat also loves to join. He gives me little kisses when I do down dog 🙂

    • vamperuwen January 7, 2017 at 1:33 pm

I wish my cat would do that instead of trying to attack my feet, lol. 😀

    • ErykaSoleil January 8, 2017 at 6:14 pm

I’m so glad it’s not just me! XD I had my 8-yr old daughter doing her best
to try doing yoga with Mommy, my 2-yr old son alternately “helping” both of
us and trying to do downward dog with us, and then when I went on my back
my husband’s dog came and laid down next to me and nuzzled her way under
one of my hands to get some pets. Good thing Adriene helped me develop a
better sense of humor about such things. ^_^ Loved reading these comments
about the pets, they made me chuckle.

    • Ruth McGuire January 9, 2017 at 9:30 am

My cat is a ‘lady of a certain age’ just like me, so isn’t as lively and
flexible as she used to be (also like me), but she always decides that the
middle of my yoga mat is exactly the place to settle down for a good long
sleep on just as I have got into a particularly challenging posture! Either
that or she face-rubs my toes, which tickles like nothing on earth, ha ha!

    • Michelle Elizabeth (CreativeCritters) January 10, 2017 at 8:53 pm

LOL I’ve got a couple of yoga kitties over here 😉 Although my fat cat
Ginko pretty much prefers corpse pose in the middle of the mat, at least
Calcifer joins me for the down dogs (down cat in his case) and sits in
front of me to help me get further into forward folds (c’mon Mom, you can
reach me- pet the kitty- lol). They make yoga even more fun 🙂

  • A Raad January 6, 2017 at 5:25 am

Damn this was so hard for me 🙂 HELLO TO EVERYONE FROM LONDON 🌹

    • Zak White January 6, 2017 at 8:51 am

I’ve only been doing Yoga since August. This was too advanced for my
practice. Did what I could and pressed through to the end. That’s all
Adriene asks all of us to do and that’s what makes her a great teacher.

    • A Raad January 6, 2017 at 5:17 pm

Zak White she definitely is , love her

    • Sam_Oli January 6, 2017 at 7:28 pm

A Raad, The crunches killed me. 👍 to everyone for showing up. Hello from

  • eatthisvr6 January 6, 2017 at 8:36 am

this is tonight’s video before bed and I’m sure il be cursing you lol

    • eatthisvr6 January 6, 2017 at 5:40 pm

      that burns!

  • Deen Dondersteen January 6, 2017 at 11:27 am

Ugh. This is the first time i really shouted SHUT UP while you were talking
us trough plank. I mean, really, my Dutch seconds go much faster than your
    US seconds! ;)

    • Black Rabbath January 6, 2017 at 12:22 pm

Deen Dondersteen 😂😂 I think there is a difference between Dutch and US
seconds haha. I am Dutch myself..and one second in the US is about one
      second longer haha

  • Kevin Morice January 6, 2017 at 4:44 pm

Am I the only person finding this year to be a lot tougher and more
technical than the previous years? I sailed through 30 days and yoga camp
but we are only at Day 6 and I had to skip about half of this.

    • mapple34 January 6, 2017 at 11:52 pm

you’re not the only one, she’s kicking my butt too! definitely tougher than
      the other 30 days.

    • Heleen Mineur January 8, 2017 at 12:35 pm

don’t frustrate and skip! Just take small breaks even do child’s pose and
continue 🙂 I did this in the beginning and after a while it feels really
natural to just go with your own rhythm!

    • kernowcrone January 9, 2017 at 2:38 pm

yup, I agree – it seems much tougher than Yoga Camp – different.

  • Erin Mason January 6, 2017 at 5:23 pm

I don’t get emails everyday. I’d like to get the email for today’s

    • Yoga With Adriene January 6, 2017 at 10:01 pm

Search your email as they end up in different folders sometimes. 🙂

    • bikeyo January 8, 2017 at 6:10 pm

If you use gmail, they will get categorized into your “Promotional” folder.

  • Andrea Kirschling January 6, 2017 at 6:11 pm

My hips seem to crack or pop every time I do bicycles or scissors, it
doesn’t hurt but it’s not comfy and sounds terrifying. Any one have the
    same problem or advice?

    • Emily Hayes January 6, 2017 at 6:54 pm

When I first started, about 9 months ago, I used to get this all the time –
the sound genuinely made me feel sick haha! But I found that after a couple
of months it gradually got better and now doesn’t happen. 🙂

    • Clara Roethe January 7, 2017 at 7:19 am

me too! I especially feel the crack/release when doing the windshield
wipers with my legs while on my back. let us know if things change

    • j db January 7, 2017 at 10:28 pm

Andrea – I have the same and understand it can be caused by tight muscles,
particularly in my lower back. Keep doing yoga, stretching out and if
you’re an office worker then you might want to try standing while doing
computer work. That has helped me a huge amount

    • Tori Stramara January 9, 2017 at 6:44 pm

Andrea, sounds like you have “snapping hip syndrome” I have the same issue.
It’s actually your hip flexor muscle (iliopsoas) slipping over a bony
prominence on your hip (greater trochanter). Working on hip flexor
flexibility and core strength should help. Sometimes I even notice once I’m
really warmed up and my abs are firing it lessens or even stops.

  • KatrinaKingsOfLeon January 6, 2017 at 7:00 pm

Why am I not getting the emails I totally signed up?!

    • Yoga With Adriene January 6, 2017 at 10:02 pm

Search your email on a computer not a phone! Sometimes they go to other
      folders! xoox

    • JusticeLeagueOfPink January 7, 2017 at 4:15 pm

KatrinaKingsOfLeon how do you sign up for the email?

    • Alessandra Correia January 8, 2017 at 3:12 pm

You have got to go to the website to sign up. ;P

    • bikeyo January 8, 2017 at 6:10 pm

If you use gmail, they will get categorized into your “Promotional” folder.

    • Ratadeclaveguera January 9, 2017 at 5:40 am

      it’s happening to me too

  • airplainchild January 6, 2017 at 11:00 pm

Anyone else having trouble doing this on top of their existing workout
    I feel so exhausted.

    • airplainchild January 6, 2017 at 11:19 pm

+Sage Beatson Thanks! I wasn’t sure if this was something my body would get
used to or if it was a sign I should take it just a little easy.

    • Kayla Arabia January 7, 2017 at 4:57 pm

I think a common misconception of yoga is that it is an easy, stretchy,
“in-addition-to” a workout kinda thing … there are so many types of yoga
styles that complement workouts or are workouts in an of themselves. Listen
to your body – which I think youre already doing! Thumbs up!

    • Samiha Khatoon January 8, 2017 at 5:10 am

I am going easy on my existing routine and concentrating on this yoga
challenge else it becomes too much to handle 🙂

    • Melanie Pierluigi January 10, 2017 at 8:54 am

I actually find these routines quite easy. I always do a second work out
because I barely break a sweat doing these. Good for the mind, but I don’t
      find them challenging physically.

    • Nichelle Hocaloski January 11, 2017 at 3:35 pm

do what feels right and rest when needed. When i do a hot yoga class at a
studio postpone this challenge a day.

  • Lea Oversteegen January 8, 2017 at 10:10 am

Don’t know if I’m the only one but i always say namaste with her at the end
as a kind of form of closure and content and I’ve been doing this for every
30days for the last three years haha

    • Nichelle Hocaloski January 11, 2017 at 3:37 pm

      always! 🙂

  • bela vloggt January 9, 2017 at 12:50 am

My abs will hurt tomorrow but the most difficult thing was to keep my
attention on my back – what a nice change of perspective, thanks for that

  • Rhasha Hoosier January 11, 2017 at 10:51 pm

This was a great one and fun and guess what my sigh is already in Texas b/c
I live in old DFW! Lol

  • Justin Martinez January 12, 2017 at 12:28 pm

Shout out to all the guys on this channel!!!

  • Haisel Cruz January 12, 2017 at 1:19 pm
